What is Nutritional Activism?
Olivia is passionately anti-diet. Having worked with hundreds of individuals who have spent their lives relentlessly trying every new diet she has seen the damage dieting can do to individual physical and mental health. Diet companies make money because weight loss when using a restrictive, guilt-based approach is not sustainable.
Olivia is also passionate about supporting people to normalise the body that they are in, not normalise the body that society tells them they should be in.
Having worked with many individuals and seen the relief they experience when they realise by making some very simple tweaks to their approach to nutrition they can have a more balanced, relaxed, guilt-free relationship with food and eating, Olivia is determined to support as many people as she can towards a place where they enjoy meal times again.
The Nutrition Activist brand came from a place of being passionately anti-diet but has now progressed to a place where the activism is simply supporting one person at a time, a small group of people at a time to free them from the distracting influence of society and diet culture.
If you have always had a health goal of weight loss but are willing to try a new approach and achieve freedom from diet culture then nutrition activism is for you. It’s not bad to have a goal of weight loss but by taking this approach you may well realise that your body is lovely just the way it is. No matter what happens, you will start to understand how you can live a values-based approach to food, eating and, living free from the guilt that diet-culture brings. That frees up so much space and time, believe me. Time that can be better spent focusing on things you love and enjoy.
It’s not a quick journey but it’s one that once you start it, you’ll never look back. Take that diet culture!
